A few things we need from you before the retreat
Everything you need to know for your journey
Florence Airport (FLR) — approximately 1 hour by car
Pisa Airport (PSA) — approximately 1.5 hours by car
We can arrange a private car transfer for you, or you can take the train to Arezzo and a short taxi from there. We'll send detailed directions closer to the date.
A stunning private estate nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany. The villa features a beautiful pool, meditation gardens, spacious communal areas, and a shared kitchen where we'll gather for meals together.
Your room assignment will be shared with you separately.
Italy is part of the Schengen Area. Depending on your nationality, you may need a visa to enter.
Please check the entry requirements for your country well in advance. If you need a letter of invitation for your visa application, let us know and we'll prepare one for you.
Beyond the Retreat
For those arriving early or lingering a little longer, this corner of Italy holds some of its most extraordinary secrets. Consider these an invitation to wander.
Tuscany sits atop ancient volcanic springs. The Etruscans bathed in these waters thousands of years ago. You can too.
Rapolano Terme · 45 min from the villa
Two ancient thermal establishments nestled between Siena and Arezzo. The waters emerge at 39 degrees from deep within the earth, rich in calcium and sulphur. The Antica Querciolaia has six outdoor pools set within a landscaped park. Therapeutic, restorative, and utterly beautiful.
Val d'Orcia · 1.5 hours
A medieval village built around an enormous thermal pool in the main square. The piazza IS the bath. One of the most photographed spots in Tuscany, and the free natural rock pools below the village are unforgettable at sunset.
Maremma · 2 hours
The iconic cascading travertine terraces of Cascate del Mulino. Warm sulphurous water tumbles over natural limestone into milky blue pools, completely open and free to all. Arrive early in the morning for a near-private experience. Worth every minute of the drive.
Hilltop towns, Renaissance masterpieces, and landscapes that look like oil paintings. Every drive here is scenic.
30 min from the villa
The ancient Etruscan hilltop town that inspired Under the Tuscan Sun. Narrow stone streets wind upward to reveal sweeping views over the Valdichiana valley, Lake Trasimeno, and Monte Amiata. Visit the Piazza della Repubblica for espresso, then lose yourself in the medieval lanes. Best at golden hour.
25 min from the villa
A living, breathing Italian city (not a tourist town). The Piazza Grande is one of Italy's most beautiful squares. Piero della Francesca's frescoes in the Basilica are reason alone to visit. If you're here on the first Sunday, the antique market fills the entire old town.
1 hour from the villa
A UNESCO World Heritage landscape that defines the Tuscan dream. Rolling hills crowned with lone cypress trees, medieval villages, and vineyards as far as you can see. Drive the winding road between Pienza and Montepulciano and stop wherever the light tells you to.
40 min from the villa
One of Tuscany's best-kept secrets. A tiny walled medieval town perched on a hillside with ancient stone streets so narrow they feel like passageways into another century. Virtually no tourists. Completely enchanting. The site of a famous Leonardo da Vinci battle painting, now lost to history.
1 hour from the villa
The highest of the Tuscan hill towns. Renaissance palaces line the steep main street that climbs to the Piazza Grande with commanding views in every direction. Famous for Vino Nobile. Visit the underground cellars of a historic winery, then have lunch overlooking the valley.
1.5 hours from the villa
The birthplace of the Renaissance needs no introduction. If you haven't been, this is your chance. If you have, there's always something new. The Oltrarno neighbourhood across the Ponte Vecchio is where the artists and artisans still live and work.
